stand strong shiro!
I dont think this will destroy the skin they implemented like the heroes from campaig and conquest skin, because of course that skin is unique. everybody will keep play the conquest and story to get it.
but my point is to expand that skins, to give the player who enjoy the singleplayer get a reward to get another unique skin. a lot of poeple enjoy to collecting skins, my request is to make the skin buyable by a game currency, and the game currency obtainable in the game itself "not a real money" so its look like a bonus reward for player who keep play the game more and more.
like what i said "make the singleplayer game is rewarding to play". while we still got the fun but we got the gold too, to get the new skins.
and it will give the change to dev add an event on northgard for keep their game a live and increase their player base. because this game have a lot potensial to be bigger than now
In game currency brings real money into the shop. Whether to buy more currency or items themselves.
I am all for implementing more cosmetics, but not in "game shop"....
An idea for those could be:
your rank (villager,warchief,Jarl,......) emblem portraited on buildings such as military camp
Each clan's emblem (10 wins, 25 wins, 50 wins) could be portrayed as a small cosmetics for defense tower (or townhall) such as small bronze/silver/golden emblem on the building
build upon what is already in the game, don't make them change stuff from scratch because you want to make your buildings purple or smth
This is RTS game, aimed for multiplayer (which is why it definitely needs balancing rather than cosmetics...) you need to understand that.
To praise the developers, there are already rewards for every mode you play (war chief skins, town hall skins, ranked league town halls) -> it is much more than most RTS would ever care to add... Enjoy what is there and try to reach for more...
I doubt you've unlocked everything from warchiefs, through townhalls to being in rimesteel league... right? Instead of asking for more, try to reach what is already there :)
Cosmetics reward for the clan emblem and rank is really good idea.
I dont think if the dev will implemented the game currency, then they make the game currency buyable by real money, because this not free to play game at least.
If you think this will make them change the stuff from scratch, i dont think so.
the new skin can be like a variant color of the base shape of mesh, or something like a new outfit for the heroes or warchief "for everyone who still not able finish the campaig in extreme, like say a noob who like play the game" or adding a accessories to building. This just expand their art to be more.
Yup this RTS game which aimed for multiplayer, but because this is multiplayer game adding more skin will be awesome. Of course the balance of every clan and why not bring skin too.
I was got her warchief and townhall skin for my fav clan raven, and unlock the stag. and now on reaching kraken while still up rank on multiplayer. x) and i know that i still need do more play especially on multiplayer to reach the rimsteel.
The favor can be for anyone who was reach that all, then give them a new skin that can be collectiable by playing single or more multiplayer will be a reward for them, and keep them play.
if you fear when the dev bring the game currency into the game and make them buyable by real money, i trust they will not do that because they always listening every idea from the community and not a kind of greed dev.
If you NEED a reward to play the game, perhaps you should consider that you need a break or you need some other games. Playing the game in and of itself should be the reward.
Needing a reward implies the game isn't really fun. Hence, you might think to yourself "why am I doing this, what is in it for me". That isn't something you think about when you play a fun game.
I'd take a break if you are falling into that mentality. Truly.
That funny what you say, yeah maybe i need to take some break x)
i got your point the fun is the reward of course, and im enjoy this game a lot. because the RTS mechanice is really for my playstyle. so relaxing and challanging.
It should not to be grind, yeah maybe like win 5 or 6 match we got a new skins for the clan.
If you compared it with the grind on MMOs it will be weird. Because grind on MMOs is the main feature of that game and they must be at a lot of grind. my suggestion on here is just for essential so doesnt need to be the core of game. because its just skins
if the dev then really put the skin system, they definitely will make this just essential. But really the impact of skin its a lot for the fun of player who really like the art of this game.
Like someone who just buy the game and got an information that he\she can use the heroes skin for his gameplay on single and multiplayer only after finish the story on extreme and completed the bonus objectives, then they will keep try to finish it even its so hard for them. so that the impact, because they get more fun with the reward.
i play this game after work and holiday, and a lot in offline because the connection problem.
really i play this game to out of stress, because this really help a lot and i got the fun even i got more fun while playing other game like brawlhalla. But for a relaxing game this really fun game. so for the mentality im fine while playing this game x)
because this game never make me upset or on angry time because the challange.
Cannot agree more
There is also the factor that these skins don't come out of thin air. There is manpower involved.
I'd prefer that the artists supporting the dev team work on the dev team's new content, rather than working on skins for a store or for grinding. They can't work on both at the same time (and if they do, one gets partially sacrificed for the other).
Adding new things to current content, fixing pre-existing content, and adding new content should be the priority IMO. And for Shiro, they seem to have this down-pack.
Rehashing old content shouldn't happen until 15 years from now when Northgard gets remastered.
One exception to this could be - for example - if another game-mode came out like conquest. I'd personally prefer more features be added to current game-modes but this isn't outside the realm of possibility. A reward for that new game-mode could potentially be skins, similar to the reward for completing the campaign on hard.
TL;DR - making skins would be a distraction (however minute) from making new content. And since new content from the devs tends to enhance the game far more than a few skins does, new content>new skins as far as improving the game goes.
That true, it will give them a lot of job. And will need a lot manpower.
But i really wish after they are really finished adding all the new content they planned, they will start looking to skins. Because this is awesome thing.
But if they can make it happend while still creating a new content to the game it will a miracle gift, especially for me. Because they are make it happend so fast x)
-Creating new content for Northgard.
-Or creating new content for other, equally awesome games.
Unless they have some bored modellers on an off-day who are looking to cook something up (and bored people doesn't often happen in a small company - there is always something to do), I can't see this being a good use of time.
Instead of skins, modding would be better. This way, it doesn't take away from the dev's time. Plus it is always fun to see what kind of passion projects players cook up.
