Random Map Generation
It really feels like the game is quite a bit too random in how it sets up the maps. I get that having to deal with the environment is part of the challenge, but it should not have cases where your initial location is either absurdly in or against your favour.

There are loads of factors. The amount and type of food (Do you get multiples of the same type making forge upgrades more useful? Do you only get 1 in the immediate area? Can you take advantage of your Clans strengths?). And this should be mitigated at least to a certain point. I'm not saying they should be fixed, but there should be a baseline that assures fair competition at least.

I thiink having a single tile be based on your Clan pick would work well. Raven and Kraken get a second beach tile. Bear has a source of fish. That sort of thing. Forests should also have some form of downside, or never spawn as a potential starting tile. Having the random chance to just get a better wood economy at little to no cost doesn't contribute to the game, other than encouraging people to reroll maps over and over (On Extreme it's downright mandatory).

If it should not be clan specific, then adjusting spawn around the town hall to a certain standard would also help.
