How to counter players with Jotuns?

I get steam rolled by a friend because he manages to get Jotuns earlier than me every time.

Well, if you know he is going to get them... try killing their camp OR him, before he can get the giant. Otherwise, I dont know of any "trick" to kill them easily :D

It takes 3 upgraded camps to get them fast enough for them to matter. Problem lies not in Jotun but in your enemy economy that can allow to sell so much food.
Depending on clan you are playing I suggets getting early army faster than him and raidinghis territories to kee phim in check.
Overall either trade better than him or just play faster.

If you direct all your production to scout and attack in end of 801, you won't need to buy Jotun )
But your friend waste all resources for Jotun's food.

The classic case of too many Kröwns in coffer not enough foods in silo situation...you need to scout every corner of the map to make sure and then reminded him that he asking for it... with equal army and winter approaching he will definitely starve if you attacking his food tile or just killing every villager you can and ran off.

But if map said you can't rush you are 99% dead... 1% if he ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up...
