Saw this is an old thread, but whatever. I do the same, and just destroy the woodcutter camp and move it over if there happens to be woods. You get some resources back anyways.
Maybe you could elaborate a bit? No one here can read your mind.
I heard that Empires apart crashes constantly and that Northgard is much more stable.
It is far better then most of the older games in this genre. It is way better then Age of Empires. I don't think that the AI cheats. Most of these types of games are very easy to play but It's those reviews that keeps people from buying this kind of a good game.
The devs have said that the AI cheats but the AI is terrible anyway so they need to! ;-)
Yeah, this game is good to play on normal difficulty, but extreme is a real cheating and you have to calculate every step, playing every mission 10 times or more. In real strategy u can change your strategic plan if u want it, in this game on extreme u have 1-2 ways to win (usually only 1). I just started to play and I'm talking about 1-5 missions only, but on extreme there is no particular choice...
And another thing - if "game mechanics" means to learn what building you have to build in the same moment it's not a strategy game, it's just a school lesson "you" have to learn. Difficulty levels changed, try it now.
Higher difficulties are ment to be hard! If you are not able to beat the game on extreme, you are not good enough. There are many games out there which are much harder and it's nice to have a challenge. In my opinion the devs could also add a even higher difficulty.
"Game mechanics" is not about "when to build what building", it's about to understand how the game works. Northgard is about managing and balancing your economy. There are different ways to get a good economy and there are different ways to beat the game. If you have problems beating the game on high difficulties, play on lower difficulties and try again on extreme if you are experienced enough.
U told me there are many ways to beat game on extreme))) Ahahah! Ok, prove it! Beat mission 4 on extreme by trading only! Come on)) Make the video with it.
There is only 1 way to win on mission 4 - rush to Liv to desroy her village. Stop building guru, on extreme there are no different ways, its are on normal and hard only!
Harder difficulty is harder. It's meant to be hard, so will use whatever mechanics to make it hard. If that means changing strategy, so be it.
It's not 'cheating' if it's higher difficulty levels, it's an attempt at using various mechanics to make a harder challange.

Also not being able to pause and look around kind of stupid and adding unneccesary urgency to the game.
The main problem in a game is AI cheating. Today I finished 5th mission on extreme and there was next situation - I came to main enemy base and kill every soldiers and peasants. After that there started conquer timer and I saw AI spawned 2 soldiers with axes in one part of sector and 2 soldiers with shields in other side. Yeah, it's not cheating suuure)) 4 soldiers for 1 second is a
normal situation!
