Relics and Team Games

Why is it that when you are in a team-game and your team member is the same clan as you, then you aren't allowed to create the same relic?

I find that for most clans, the clan-specific relics are WAY better than the general relics.

It basically forces you to race against your team (if they happen to play the same clan as you) in order to quickly obtain your relic (and ♥♥♥♥ them over, as they can't get the relic now).

It is small, but pretty silly. I don't find it conducive to team-play anyway.
