Asking for general tips for multiplayer
Hello everyone! :)
I am a bit of a coward so I haven't played multiplayer ever in this game (pvp that is, I *did* play co-op conquests a lot already). I never felt good enough to try out pvp before, but now I am actually good enough to win extreme mode conquests with domination victories as snake (my best clan by far).

I wonder how much of my skills in singleplayer extreme mode conquest even apply to multiplayer at all though. At least you don't have everyone starting with two upgraded towers on their townhalls I assume, but players know a lot better how to kill you than AI I assume.

I've already read some posts on here before that said things like "in general, you need to be able to support ~10 military by the end of 801 or else you're getting rushed to death", how real is that in the actual multiplayer in the game?
That definitely would make it a lot different than extreme mode conquest cause I've never had games taking so long as they do in extreme mode. (last game took until 807. But in normal or easy mode I am usually also doing 802 or early 803 victories. So I wonder how comparable that is to multiplayer)

And, generally, how is the zone hostility usually in multiplayer? Is it like in extreme mode or how does it work?
Do people only rush for domination or are there other winning types that I would have to be aware of? (Maybe stag with fame, Lion with lore, clans like that. Is it something people are actually doing or not?)

Thanks a lot for insights. I want to feel mentally prepared before trying it out, as I said, coward <3

Let me introduce multiplayer to u then!

FFA There are 2 kinds of player playing this mode, the ones who play early game clans and late game clans. Early clans like wolf will attack u soon, u can't basically defend because u're going eco with your late game clan and lose (which is not really fun), instead if u play a late game clans (the best one is RAT right now) and manage to survive u have high chance of winning the game). The only real problem in this mode is the RNG, ppl do whatever they want, u see many times a guy who's winning by fame/lore (noone goes for him) but u can't reach him because there are others ppl alive between u and him.. I don't really suggest u to play it if u look for a "competitive" and "balanced" game.

4 vs 4 The map is huge, which means ppl use to rush a lot because it takes too long to notice for the rush, make camps and bring the troops to the guy who's rushed (opposite side of the map). If u play it with chill players its fine, otherwise is a really trash mode.

1 vs 1 Here ppl use to camp with guardian (Defending is usually better on this game because u can tile lock players, u can easily get border and attackers have tile distance beduff), so the game is basically or a rush or a 809 game where someone will win by mid/lore or some boring ♥♥♥♥ like that while u can't win by domination (clans play a major role here just like in 3 vs 3 because the difference between them is abyssal)

3 vs 3 The best mode imo, as I said clans play a major role on this game so high lvl players usually play mirror (same clans on both sides) (which makes it the most balanced and competitive mode). Playing with other players means u can share tiles, and make strategies together, which is pretty fun compared to 1 vs 1 or ffa. Ofc it won't be fun when u will get clans like Goat/Bear/Squirrel/Horse/Ox in team while u have against clans like Stag/Eagle/Snake/Kraken. So if u play not mirror and supposing ppl know how to play their clans u know the result without even playing the game.

2 vs 2 This mode is basically played by 2 players premades, is the same as 3 vs 3, but with less players ofc.

2 vs 2 vs 2 vs 2 This mode is usually played by 2 players pre too. I don't really like this mode because when u go to fight with a team another one can go to attack you (ofc u can't def because u fought another team and your army is halved), many ppl backstab so they can easily get second place (which means glory points, the current points used for the ranking system).

Hope this helps u a bit :praisesun:

Thank you, that's a really good overview! It sounds to me a lot like 3 vs 3 is probably the most fun :tabbycat:
something to do as soon as I'm done with exams :D
