Why can't you delcine a "bonus" in Bifrost?

First I will say it again there are WAY too many "lore" bonuses in Bifrost. Why not just start the clans with their regular unique lores and give out less bonuses. Some clans really rely on their unique bonuses and the regular techs make little sense.

Mainly though....why oh why am I FORCED to overwirte a lore bonuse I like with one I hate? If you get all lore bonuses (or all but one in single player) you HAVE to take a lore bonuse and HAVE to install it over one of your techs instead of simply forgoing the bonus. Thus the "reward" you get is actually a penalty.

In COOP you can run into the situation where one player must take a lore and if nobody wants a lore one person is forced to take and overwrite their lore.

Why can't I simply take no bonus instead? Why can it opt to not overwrite a lore in the lore tree and trash the new lore?

If I take two lore bonuses why can't I choose which one to put down first so I can overwrite with the other (in the case where this happens with a lore you want and one you don't).

A bonus should never be a down grade.

You can decline a bonus. You just have to click the 'X' in the corner of the window / hit esc to go to the menu when picking what lores to overwrite. The game will pause and claim another player is picking lore bonuses, and will repeat in doing so on future lore gains, but you can bypass that by opening and closing the esc pause menu.

I suspect this isn't intended as supported behavior, and likely will get patched out, but it does let you avoid overwriting techs you want to keep.

Why is overwriting 'Trade Caravan' repeatedly with bad lore not a good option to deal with bad lore? Trade Caravan seems to be a useless lore in Bifrost. (and in general)

What if you already overwrote it with a good lore?
