Did you try to verify the game for download errors or to uninstall it and reinstall it completely?
From what I can tell the Sound section of the Options looks normal. nothing is muted. When I move the sliders on the sound volume for Music, Ambient, or Sound Effects, no sound plays.
I've tried verifying the integrity of the game files (everything good) and uninstalling and reinstalling the games. But there is still no audio. All other games in my steam library play sound.
Have you reported this using the in-game report button?

Adding to this my own experience -
I've got my speakers plugged in to the 3.5mm jack on my monitor. There seems to be some electrical issue at my place that causes my monitor to turn off and turn back on in 1-2 seconds when certain other appliances or switches are toggled in the rest of the house.
If by chance i'm playing the game when this happens, then I lose audio.
I assume it is because in the split second that monitor turns off, Windows probably changes audio output device and switches it back to the monitor when display comes on.
Any chance of switching audio peripherals being fixed?
I understand the annoyance, sadly the issue is considered minor and doesn't have the priority over some other important issues reported to us (lobby, multiplayer, crashes in-game) so working on this is not planned at the moment
