Instead I suggest playing FFA. Then playing team games after you know what you're doing.
IMO, yes its normal. I dont do team anymore and started doing FFA from on now and got to iron because of it. Teams are rigged anyways. Too many cheating premades.
Also about feasting during winter, the difference between doing it in winter and summer is resources. In summer, you get more resources off feasts compared to winter. Only reason I could do feast is if I'm full food or something but I would usually buy lands if my food is getting full.
Go for sc2. Its free and 2v2/3v3 modes generally less toxic than this game.
