Achieve Victory in less than 4 years...
A stressful Daily Trip quest.
I hate it.

I am not ashamed to say even on a small easy AI map it is difficult to achieve.

I would like to see that Daily Trip changed from:
"less than 4 years" (stressful)
to
"with in 4 years". (less stressful)

A good mission for this task is the conquest mission called "Too many wywerns". You have to defeat three wyverns in total. I had it in my Kraken conqust and it was quite easy to do quickly if you have the warchief, two valkyries and some throwaway units.

This mission is extra useful because the wyverns respawn as zombie wyverns when they're killed and those also count. So you only have to locate two wyvern tiles.

It wasn't that bad. Just pick Wolf and go Domination victory.

I'm struggling with this one, I'm an economy guy, Stag & Boar, I usually win via wisdom or fame, I play Raven, Horse and Wolf too. I figured my best bet was to Play Raven, have sailors and one scout explore, mine 2 iron nodes, skip the relic, use iron to improve raids fully focus on money so that I can raid my enemy before the 4 years is up. I only built a small enough army to capture surrounding territories, warchief and 2 warriors. I played Goat on easy, medium map, missed by a month. I tried to play wolf and other military savy clans, but I still can't help but balance the economy and improve it before I build my army. Normally I like to have 2 food, 2 wood, 3 coin and 1 healer building fully staffed as well as one iron and one stone node mined too before I build my army... Speed isn't my thing, tips would be great.

I only tried that Raven strategy once, gonna try it again. I'll let you know if I have any success refining that method down.

I just did it, started immediately after the last post, it says my last post was 46 minutes ago... so that was a good finish, he was dead before the end of September. All I had to do was focus on the raids. I ignored the dwarf challenge, the ceremonial bonfire, all of it, just iron and gold. I managed to take him out with one 8 man raid... I could have finished him in January of 803 with that method.

Edit - correction of time, my post took a few minutes to write

Method was, Build scout building and wood cutter immediately. Staffed 1 wood cutter and 1 scout, paid 10 gold for 5th villager to speed up pop growth built house, pop cap 11, assigned 5th as a wood cutter, immediately captured 1st zone scouted (4 build slots, no specialty) to increase happiness, make villagers faster, I tried to remember to pay 10 gold to speed up pop growth right before the villager will naturally spawn. when I achieve 80 knowledge, will go trade all the way (negotiators, ship building, carpentry mastery, negotiation) and cringe about my economy growth. as soon as food was at 6, built harbor immediately started trying to hoard gold. Next built a second house, population cap to 16, training hall, trained 1 warrior, killed 2 wolves next to my main tile. Captured food tile, made fisherman, tried to remember as many last minute cheap villagers as possible. Built second wood cutter, then healer, then another house, pop cap to 21, second food, farm, built brewery, got 200 fame, and started mining iron, got warchief, took more tiles as iron was mined, as soon as iron was gone, built didn't build a second gold building, built lighthouse instead, used 1 harbor for income, slowly added villagers keeping gold production as top tier asap. Don't remember the order, but grew as needed. Established my basic economy but army was never more than 1 war chief and 1 warrior. I ended up mining 2 nodes, building my 2 food and wood buildings, 2 harbors, 1 healer, 1 brewery, mined 1 stone node when i could, did some upgrades pop cap was at 31 at end of game, had 27 villagers. as soon as winter of 802/803 ended and spring began I started feasting, built up 750 gold with my fully upgraded raid party, minus recruiting time reductions. i got lucky enemy war chief was right near my landing point on his main tile that i scouted via explore from my harbor, all 8 mercs killed his warchief before the lone warrior villagers and wood cutters. He was dead before the end of September of 803

Thanks for the information. I am happy you enjoy the game.

I got better at the game, but can only seem to do the achievement with the Wolf Clan.
The Wolf Clan is designed to rush.

Bruh, I was looking for help because I was struggling, didn't see any help on the forums, so I continued on my plan and it worked.
Some Old Gamer Aug 9, 2022 @ 7:31pm
@spaceminnow, I hear that, wolf clan's war chief is so much stronger than most too. Tell me how you do it. Wolf was my first favorite, and I still enjoy playing them. I like forging Jormunir with Wolf because I can capture so much of the map on when I play medium 1v1 map or an XL 1v3 free for all. Between food, jormunir and war chief's 6 month free cap I can build a crazy economy. Funny right?? I can make a kick ass economy that can compete with boar and stag with a clan that's supposed to be military.

That match I described before was a 1v1, medium easy map, easy goat in case I didn't say.
Some Old Gamer Aug 9, 2022 @ 7:35pm
@spaceminnow, what I'm asking you is basically how do you manage your economy? I mentioned my 2 food, 2 wood, 3 coin and 1 healer building before moving forward, that stalls me with Wolf. I'm thinking I need more military to get more happiness as I achieve that economy.
Spaceminnow Aug 9, 2022 @ 10:23pm
Remember, the wolf clan's first warrior is free. It seems sadistic, but Wolf Clan's reputation is to die honorably in battle. Wolf Clan can colonize quickly in the beginning by sending one warrior at a time to clear easy tiles. Druager are much tougher and may require the warchief with two warriors with him and push. You don't need to colonize tiles to attack an enemy home tile. Cut a way to them and take them.
Some Old Gamer Aug 10, 2022 @ 6:32am
I cut a path through tiles to attack, I get that. So basically you just sacrifice warriors at first to clear the wolf tiles, so you can have a larger territory early on??
Some Old Gamer Aug 10, 2022 @ 6:35am
I guess what I'm asking is how you manage your economy. I could see a wolf minimalist only making like 2 wood cutters, houses, 1 healer, 2 gold 1 food and lots of villagers to advance quickly. It crossed my mind to keep a smaller population with high happiness to make a pool of villagers to sacrifice from too.

I haven't played the game in a long while. I may start playing again to experience possible balance changes. I may be a little rusty :steamfacepalm:
