When you have enough food (max, +1000), colonize not 1 or 2, but many rimsteel tiles and spam quarries, the worm will take them out one by one quickly, but it can only do one at a time. The warchiefs will engage and run back automatically to heal, so don't attack it yourself, it's a waste of resources.
You won't need many fishermen at this point, just a few to keep minor production. You can erase unused buildings.
For kröwns, build a trading post and a marketplace within the same tile, upgrade at least one of them, this gives a good amount of money.
When you're done mining, build army camps, 10 units at least, more if eco allows it.
And be sure to grab the Monster slayer lore before you attack. I tend to use almost axe throwers only, shieldbearers can be a good meatshield sometimes, but not in this mission I think. So screw them and it's lore completely. I see no point in making regular warriors either, the warchiefs will tank. I focus on axe with the smith upgrade.
Hope this helps (on my first playthrough I struggled too with this mission, but later achieving all additional goals in one go was no problem with the described tactic)
I'd suggest taking a look at this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8d8aasnIR4&t=600s
Another player was having trouble with Chapter 9 and this video helped him complete it. (It isn't a tutorial)
