Glory Victory

Any tips on getting a glory victory? I find that my units are too spread out to get the 15 locations owned and if I try to build enough forces I will lack in resources. The other victories I have figured out a strategy for but glory has me stumped...

If you are not playing with one of the clans that gets an easy way to expand to tiles (e.g. Stag relic, Wolf warchief ability) one of the things I have done is make the Lore relic which lets you expand using lore instead of food. Also, with Raven you can expand with krowns instead of food.

The clan I wouldn't get the lore relic with is Bear (because the Bear specific relic is just too good), in that case you should just get lots of upgraded fish and shieldbearers and you shouldn't have issues with lacking resources to expand/not having enough army.

The other way to go about it is just get bigger- by bigger I mean make more upgraded food buildings all over the place, more markets/trading posts, more ships... just get everything you can upgraded, and more of it. While you are looking for room to do that you will find you have plenty of population and resources left over to keep a big army going and holding the necessary tiles for the glory victory (I think you mean the fame victory) will be easier.

I hope this helps as tips, btw are we talking about a multiplayer fame victory (teams or ffa) or a skirmish fame victory or a conquest fame victory? Each of these game modes warrant different approaches especially in that playing vs human opponents is a lot more demanding than vs AI therefore the less that you can say one certain thing is going to work against another

If you're playing singleplayer/co-op game:
try to destroy "neutral" units - like Kobolds/Myrkalfar/Jotnar. They get you decent amount of fame.
Dig all the stone you can, get lore for reduction of price for upgrades and upgrade the hell out of your buildings. That will net you decent amount of fame too.
And do loremasters. Each discovered lore gets you some fame and any lore bonuses give you a good boost in fame.
Send scouts early towards middle of map and discover special tile (Sword, Wyvern, Volcano, ...) that gives a good boost of fame early.
And lastly - primarly expand for food tiles (obviously) and then in secondary try to expand in fame giving tiles (Wolf Den, Draugr Toomb, Thor's Wrath)

Can't give you much help on multiplayer FFA game, as I don't do those much. Good luck.

Thanks people :) Managed to do it with bear clan and a mass of shield maidens with a rush to the shield maiden lore upgrade and forge upgrade :)
