Are the AI supposed to be "Neutral" to you even though they are your friends? Seems kinda silly I have to trade with them to make them my friends again

Yeah sorry I was running on 2 hours of sleep, but the level Bifrost, all of the other NPC's (the one's who were your companions throughout the campaign) are Neutral to me and I am not allowed to trade with them, so I can't pass through any of their territory to get to the final boss without declaring war and fighting through them, which they have pretty sizable armies I cannot fight. I was just wondering if it was a bug or if it was intentional

If I understood you correctly, those NPCs arent supposed to be friendly to you. On the contrary, they are supposed to fight you and you are supposed to fight through them to get to the boss.

but that makes no sense, they're all LITERALLY your companions from the rest of the campaign

Thorsen, Ivar and Gunnar (Boars) are Hvedrung's henchmen, not your allies- they will attack you and yeah they make big armies

One vs Two or One vs Three (or more) happens all the time in free for all, just have to keep fighting it out. Eventually you will get to where you are ready and keep the initiative in those fights, if you are complacent in any way that's when they launch a coordinated attack

Oh I see, I was confused because everyone's like "We'll help you!" and then these settlements appear and I thought, oh cool, it'll be easy, so yeah my bad, thank you for your patience with my idiocy

I know what you're saying, it's a little confusing because the one dude is like "our settlements we have set up already in Northgard will help you" but what he means is they send you help by boat periodically (a couple villagers I think? and some resources?). You can also set up trade routes with them at trading post, that's about all the help you get

I thought it is kind of cool you can pick which dude/leader you want to use for the mission, it makes it a different challenge with each one - replays
