Questions Regarding Ranked Northgard

Sorry if this has been asked before already, but I could find very few explanations online, aside from a few speculative threads on how the system works.

Questions:

1. Is there any difference in GP earned depending on the format of the tournament (1vs1/2vs2/FFA)/e.t.c.)?
   
2. Do you still earn points if you made it into the top 50% of an FFA match for example, or is the system strictly rewarding points exclusively to the person who came first in the game as a whole?
   
3. Out of experience, is it best to play 1vs1/2vs2 or FFAs to rank up? I am assuming 1vs1 is the most efficient, but I am curious. I can understand if FFA is the most fun however.
