How to not have negative happiness in "Imported Knowledge"???
So I tried Imported Knowledge 3 times, on difficulty normal. Every time, I lose because I can't keep happiness positive. On my last try I had 3 brewer buildings with 6 brewers and I still had -1. How on earth can this be done without lore??

have less people, this game is not like starcraft, you can actually overmacro. if you have happiness issues you have made too many ppl. fewer ppl can be better anyway. Less ppl means an easier winter, less buildings needed, which means less gold spent on upkeep. negative happiness gives ppl -20% like being wounded, and if u have 40 ppl suddenly go unhappy, you are likely to starve. and start an ugly reaction.

You dont really need lore for that level, the ais have the same handicap making it not so bad.

Well you need to buy your lore in that mission, so plan to have more gold income instead (but then you dont need any loremasters on the flipside)

Well yes but how? I can only find enough gold to buy 1 lore, after that the price is already high. And it's hard to allocate more villagers to generating gold when I need every single one for food and wood, in order to survive the winters and defend.

While I wont deny that you might not be able to get all the lores you normally get, but if you can onyl afford 1 lore the entire game, that sounds like a general "learn to play" problem. I am at best average myself at the game really, but I can deffinatly afford more than 1 lore, it may be signifcanlty later than normal to get most of the lores, but certainly doable

Well, I feel like I'm decent at the game. I played the story mode on hard and in most of the conquest missions, I had such a big lead on my opponents at the end that I thought "hmm, maybe I should have chosen hard for the conquest too". It's only this final mission that I am completely clueless about.

well conqeust en general is tougher than the vast majority of the campaign missions, unless you play on extreme specifically in the campaign you can get away with a lot sloppy playing

Ehmm no, the AI in general is not playing by the same map specfic rules you are in conqeust. This can be really BS in some missions, though in others it gives you a pretty big advantage instead

i have played that level multiple times, the ais have only 2 or three lores, YOU CAN CHECK IT FROM HOVERING OVER FAME AND FROM END GAME STATISTICS. ---and one of those is usually just the military free lore.

You telling me its a coincidence that on that level alone, the ai doesnt like to get lore?

They have built-in bonuses per difficulty, but many maps they are held to the same special rules. Its not like they can get a domination win on a trade map either
Gummiel May 25, 2020 @ 5:45am
They follow the victory conditions, but not the special rules, how else would you explain how they get upgraded towers on the mission that says you cant upgrade towers, or how they get thousands(litterally) of gold, on the mission that disable all normal gold production, but makes you have to gather gold from the abondon houses, ruins etc that then regenrate?
brainless May 25, 2020 @ 4:11pm
they dont build them, they are pre built, their passives for their difficulty still exist. Look at the statistics, on extreme they start month zero with 2 upgraded buildings. (the two towers), they dont build any becuase they cant.

If you take the conquest bonus for passive gold , you will still have it for the level with no gold.
In the same way, their passive bonuses for the difficulty are still active. They cant build markets or get gold any other way. They still have gold issues, how do I know? becuase their buildings randomly catch fire. how does that happen? be out of gold.

Do you even test anything? Watch the ai, see the changes, verify with statistics after.

well both the upgraded towers when map says can't do and thousands of gold on no normal gold generation, where both on normal difficulty, not extreme, also pretty sure the upgraded towers were outside of their main tile
