Lothar bug

When I come back to Lothar with a skull, the script starts as if I've never been there before - first the conversation with Morte and then with Lothar, but all dialog options lead to Lothar killing the main character.
Is there a workaround or a fix for this issue?

Anyway, so I've used EE Keeper to edit the saved game and change "MORTE_STOLEN" to 0 and everything worked out.
