Can't get Bigg's Widescreen working

Hey all, I just bought this game after many years of planning to do so and I knew I'd need to install some mods to get it to work and look right with my modern system. That being said, I'm following GOG's guide (https://www.gog.com/news/mod_spotlight_planescape_torment_mods_guide) and trying to install Bigg's Widescreen 3.07 which I downloaded direct from their website (since the original link was dead).

I ran the installation according to their readme and I followed the instructions in the prompt. However, at the last option, it fails, giving me the error message in this screenshot: https://imgur.com/nB37Liw

I have it pointed to my game directory, I tried fiddling with the options a bit, I tried running in administrator mode, all to no avail. I've tried looking this up but no one seems to be having this issue. I'm not sure what to do at this point. It's not entirely intolerable since the game seems to be running in 1600x900 (my native resolution) but the environments do look slightly less sharp than I was expecting. Plus, another mod (Ghostdog's UI mod) won't install because of this issue, leading me to believe the mod actually isn't installed.

I'd really love to play this game with the mods specified in that guide so that the game runs smoothly and looks right. I suppose I can play the unmodded version but still, I'd prefer to play with the mods if I can so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be grateful!

That guide is to mod the old version of PS:T, not the Enhanced Edition. The widescreen mod is completely unnecessary when playing the EE version.
