Can't find a way to enter the Foundry
The guards tell me I need a receipt or they won't let me in. Where do I get one? I read something in a walkthrough about the Print shop nearby, but the owner locked me out.
Am I screwed or is there an alternative way in?

Did you do this yet?

Take a handbill to Scofflaw Penn at the Print Shop to be printed:
· Talk to Glitspur about jobs and he'll assign you this quest. He's in the Lower Ward, near the Marketplace building.
· Penn's shop is in the north-east portion of the Lower Ward, go there and give him the handbill.

Then next step
Take a message to Keldor of Durian at the foundry:
· After delivering the handbill to Penn, return to Glitspur and ask about more jobs.
· Keldor is in the auditory inside the Godsmen Foundry, go up to him and deliver the message.

I went to talk to Gilspur, but after exhausting all the dialogue options I found nothing of him offering me a job. Perhaps this is because I'm locked out of the Print Shop?

This is the website I use for reference when I played awhile ago. See if you have a missing quest.

You may need to reload from an earlier save. If you irritated Penn to the point he locks the door on you it is permanent.

Sadly, it's been too long and all my saves are from after he locked me out.
Real ****ty situation here as I have spend almost 19 hours on this game only to be soft-locked into a dead end.

Either way, thanks for all help.

I dont know of any game save editors either. That link had a few hacks but nothing about resetting quests or npcs.

I just checked to see if I had any saves near there but my saves are all in the Fortress of Regret.

Sorry cant be of more help.

I appreciate the effort, my man.
Guess there's no helping this. I'll just uninstall this broken game and maybe I'll try another tun a few years from now.

Hey, you can still get another recepit as you progress. There are more than 1 recepits. Have you found the dodecahedron?

I have found it and went to the linguist, but haven't completed this side quest already. I'll give it a try, thanks!

And... it didn't work.

I completed the dodecohedron side quest and found Finam's book at the brothel, but nothing about a receipt. I can't even find way to give the book to the linguist, when I talk to him he simply dismisses me and the dialogue ends.

Did you open your inventory and use the book? You iirc get a couple things from using it.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It worked. I found the legacy, went to the advocate and then got the receipt for the Foundry. Thank you so much!

But damn, I knew this game won't hold your hand like Skyrim, but still... to have the way into the next area be hidden away in a side-quest like that. Wouldn't want to play this game without back-up.

So I was stuck exactly like you were Knarflook... But I had found the option in the dodecahedron mentioning about the legacy (show more button hit when using the dodecahedron)... However I did not get the receipt... I went to the advocate and nothing... What does the legacy look like? Is it an item? When using the dodeca, I got the text regarding the legacy and its code but what else?? thanks!

Got it... you dont get a physical legacy when reading the dodecahedron... Just the code.. and then the advocate handle you the receipt for the foundry which I was missing!
