I strongly disagree. All three classes for TNO are equally viable, and fighter absolutely wrecks enemies. The game is well balanced around TNO not having traditional armor.
That said, it does feel like the game wants you to play as a mage because there are several interactions that are available only to mage NOs.
Playing as a fighter is still fine though, especially if you just avoid combat and use your party.
Remember - Morte's Taunt is OP and if you aren't spamming it you're doing it wrong.
He's also one of your best tanks too
You don't have to min/max this game to play it. It's entirely possible to play and enjoy the game without having an optimum build. Fighter is a fine class to choose, even if you choose a high WIS fighter.
There are many ways to play PS:T.
