Also Dying in last part of the game is a gameover.
Spoiler : Talking to Nordom or the final boss about it reveal that your no longer loose memory.
Not sure if there was some penalty I was missing out on.
There is a consequence - when you 'die' the world compensates by taking the life of someone else. When you arrive in the Fortress Of Regrets the shadows of those taken lives will be there to fight you.
SPOILER : The only real downside depends on the kind of person you will play as. For you to survive death, another one dies in your place and becomes a shadow. And the end of the game is where you answer for all the crimes you and all your past incarnations commited. So it begs the question can you live it without regrets ?
