Forging an item

So I am at the foundry and I have the tongs, the hammer, the ore and the apron, but there doesn't appear to be an actual forge to use them on. There are those glowing pots in the centre of the room and the wall full of moving gears, but none of it can be interacted with. Is there a forge elsewhere I can use to actually make the item?

There is one you can interact with in the large room. It's a bit trial and error with the cursor, but when you click on it, you get a dialog. You shoud see a question mark when you mouse over the right one.

Okies I found it eventually. Normally the highlight key (TAB) will show everything you can interact with. Not in this case for some reason :)
