I'm not trolling. That's really the only thing you can takeaway from this situation. It's just a quest. You get 8,000 experience total from it, total, according to the wiki. You can get the same experience by killing one Larval Worm.
Just be glad you didn't mess up a quest that rewards some powerful dodad, or that you need to complete an achievement.
Do you mean it's a bug that the game still gave you the quest despite Sebastion being dead? Yeah, I suppose it could have been coded differently. There are a handful of quests where it's possible to get them stuck in your quests list, unable to complete them. Hardly a game breaking bug, though.
