Report a translation problem
I've been following this forum for several months, at least, and have not noticed any frequent reports of the same type of problem. There have been a few reports of visual glitches, or difficulty getting the game started, but I think those are mostly video driver/settings issues that can be resolved.
I was quite pleased to see that when one thread reported a possible glitch / soft lock in the game, that the devs were quick to respond, saying that they'd take a look at the save file, and fix it to make progress possible.
This is not a Bethesda game where glitches abound. Even the original release of the game was fairly solid. I bought the game back when it came on 4 CDs (a later revision reduced it to 2 CDs with better video encoding for the FMV cutscenes) and I ran into few problems way back then. I'm not even sure I installed the v1.1 patch.
I'll give it a go then, without unfinished business, since its my first playthrough.
Yeah, I meant gameplay wise, as these EE versions tend to run smoothly on my system.
Can anyone help?
Are you playing on Switch?

Retrieve Porphiron's necklace:
· Porphiron, the pacifist warrior, is walking around on the north-west section of the hive, talk to him and learn about how he had his necklace stolen, volunteer to get it back.
· The thugs that stole his necklace hang out west of the Smoldering Corpse Bar, in the south-east section of the hive. There are three of them and they're all dressed in red. There are severeal ways of getting the necklace back, the one you get more exp is if you lie and tell the thug chief that Prophiron's order is after him because of the stolen necklace (500 exp) and then you can also ask for a donation the apease the order for another 250 exp and some gold.
· 1000 exp and Porphiron will now be available to train your weapon skills.
Thats the one. Yeah I've been to the southeast portion of the hive, west of the Smoldering bar, many, many times. I know where they should be, they just wont show up no matter what I do. I found one thread on gamefaqs 10 years ago about same problem and no solution was found. I haven't had any problems with any other quest, of course its the one quest I need to spend proficiency points. Thanks for trying to help.
I feel like this could be really detrimental to a new players experience, since this is one of those games people go out of their way not to spoil.
This bug was really frustrating me, but I think I found a workaround that can hopefully help someone else. (Playing on Switch Version.) I equipped the Charm of Infinite Recall to my bar like you’re supposed to, paused the game, then opened the Action wheel, selected charm, unpaused, and it finally cast. Appears to work with both the “press A” and “release ZL” options for selecting a wheel option.
No idea why this worked for me. I thought the workaround had something to do with buffering inputs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now I’ve experimented a bit. Something’s just triggering out of order unless you’ve manually paused the game.
