What is a hex editor and where do I get one :-)
1. locate original saves (in game directory)
2. locate save folder for EE (on my system (XP SP2) it was: "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\")
3. copy saves to appropriate sub-directory (e.g. "mpsave" for multiplayer)
4. edit Baldur.gam for each save with hex-editor and change GAMEV1.1 to GAMEV2.0 (it's at 0 offset)
I have similar issue with wanting to port saved-game from the original DVD-based game ( manually patched to 1.1 )
In this case,. the saved games are located ( horribly bad for security) under the PT installation folder fore example:
%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Black Isle\Torment\save
The format is then different as the files are "TORMENT" not "BALDUR" - presumably renaming these should be sufficient to then proceed with the rest of the above?

EDIT
Renaming to BALDUR.* did not work. Trying to access the "Load Game" list of saves results in a crash-to-desktop
