How to make guards stop attacking me ?
Well, I really need help here .

I'm new to this game (2hours for the moment), I got out of the Mortuary, and in the first town there is this man, I don't remember his name, asking for his cousin house or something like that, well, in the end of the conversation he ends up pickpocketing me and taking my money .
So, I killed that smartass and was, due to that, attacked by the guards .

I didn't want to fight them, only thing I could do was run. So I reloaded my save before that, and ! The guards are still running after me to kill me ?!

What do I do to make them stop ?
Can't I, I don't know, pay them or something ?

Guards? In Sigil there isn't really any law enforcement, you must be getting chased by thugs. Mouse over them to see their names.

Oh ? Yeah I checked, « Hive Dweller ».
Yep, so... how do I make them stop ?

I would suggest killing them, it likely won't affect your alignment too much if you just do it once.

Yeah I tried that too, when their health is low they run from me, but the thing is, they just keep coming !
Well, I'll try anyway thanks !

You can freely kill em. They will keep respawning and keep attacking you anyway. Or just ignore them run to your target. They are thugs

Yeah I tried and it seems to work, I don't see any difference in my alignement for the moment .
Great, thank you !

IIRC people who attack you first, like the thugs in the street who are trying to mug you, don't count against you. But if you keep attacking people who aren't red, you will eventually get punished by the Lady of Pain which can lead to an unavoidable Game Over. (There are multiple ways to anger her and you can only get out of it ONCE, so it's not a good idea to waste it on killing non-hostiles in Sigil. Killing some guy who took a few coins isn't worth it.)

Anyway when the thugs turn tail and run, that's what Morte has a taunt ability for.

Oh alright that's good to know, I don't usually kill "innocent" people, but when I saw him running like a littre rabbit, it waked up my hunter instinct soooo yeah..
Anyway, thanks for the tips !

Use Morte ability to provoke them so they wont run.

Thugs tend to drop a lot of jewelry, which is good $ if you fill entire character inventories with given types and then sell them all in one shot (merchants pay less for stuff you've already sold them). Even with Mort's ability, which only afffects one at a time, it's damned annoying the effort you have to go through to get party members with actual ranged attacks. Why can't my 20 int character figure out how to use a bow?

Probably the same reason there are no swords and armor isn't really a thing: it wouldn't fit the non-traditional-fantasy aesthetic to have you out there playing "graceful elf in the woods" on the cramped city streets of Sigil. :P

There are enough other ranged options by endgame anyway, IMO, and the characters that don't have any generally don't need any.
