Depends on how much content you choose to explore.I'd say 30-40 hours for an average player

Oh, if you keep playing, you will get far more play than you paid for. Enjoy the best CRPG ever written,

is there a point to keep playing or even replaying?

Well it is an RPG.

I played Planescape Torment when it first came out, I played through the game dozens of times then and just picked it up to play it more. I can definitely say in my personal opinion this is the absolute best CRPG ever produced by anyone.
My advice to those just picking it up, Don't play it like you would the recently made games that pretend to be RPG but aren't. Role play it. Pick the type of character you want to be and roll with it through the entire game, then play it again with a different type character. you will be shocked at how different the game is each time you play.
Large part of the game is dialogue and your choices depend on your stats (charisma, intelligence and even strength), specific outcomes of quests and carried items. It's possible you will miss some major plot points on your first playthrough because you will not meet those requirements. The game is filled with strange items and creatures, it's hard to tell what might be important or what consequences await.

Of course you can play with a walkthrough, but it will completely miss the point of the game.

definitely the best rpg ever made. hundreds of hours played. every time i played it its another game. play as warrior, mage or thief. play it as you want. definitely worth its money

Replay value ? Indeed, this is one of the best stories written for a RPG. Is it a little slow and old school yes, but personally i find that a good story is more important than high end gfx. Seen so many games that looks so beautiful but fail horribly when it comes to gameplay/story.

This game is from an era where reaching the end one time wasn't enough.

I really hope one day such quality in games can be made once again. PoE was not even close even though they claimed it was somthing within the same league. The last game that I recall that was ever close after BG or planescape was DA:1 and KotOR 1+2. Pretty depressing how many years have passed since.
