You kill Trias, you get the blade, 375k XP, Betrayer tattoo.
You redeem Trias, you don't get blade, you get 375k, Redeemer tattoo.
You redeem Trias, Vhailor objects and kills him anyway, you get 375k, blade and no tattoo.
In vanilla game it was possible both to redeem him for 375k XP and kill him with Vhailor for another 375k XP and earning both tattoos. Therefore it might be a bug here just like it could be a feature (which I tend to believe) fixing the nonsense of both redeeming and killing.
Technically speaking in 3rd case scenario you didn't redeem him because you killed him after all. Except no, you didn't, Vhailor did, so no tattoo for his deeds to you.
From my point of view, in its current form, it makes most sense to not get double XP as was the case in non-EE. As for the tattoos, that's arguable. One strike against could be that YOU redeemed him so YOU should get a redeemer tattoo, for the same reason YOU don't get a betrayer tattoo when Vhailor kills him (as of now).
I kinda like the option where Vhailor lets you have the est of both worlds with both tattoos and a sword. Alas, not our case.
Feel free to file a bug report for it.
