Deceit
How about a 4 or 5 Playermode?
It would be fun to play with friends, not with random grinch even if you have only 4 friends. So please add the option to start and play with 4 or 5 players a match.

Honestly this game shoudn't allow to partner up anyways. Where is the fun?
Also betraying your friends sucks

Thanks for that not very useful advice. Even a lan game can't be startet if you have less then six players.
Honestly I don't mind playing with guys i don't know. I wouldn't invite strangers to my home to play with me board games and get shouted what they have done with my mom. In russian.
Maybe I am part of the minority, but it would be great if this game allows partys with 4 / 5 Players with 1 less terror-player.

I don't know what friends you've got but it is fun to play this game with your friends if you got a good relationship to each other.
So it should be possible to play games with your friends even if you only got 4 which want to play this game.

They used to allow this in the past and this is what the killed the game, because unfortunate human nature made friends help each other even if they're not on the same time just to screw their non-friends over. They removed this because for loners without friends, joining a match with 3-4 people who're already together was completely unfun as you'd always get targeted by people playing together. The devs are slowly making this game begginer-friendly in an attempt to revive it.
this is what gonna completely kill the game ! #fml

I dont understand you. Why should this kill the game?
We are a group of four - five friends who wants to play deceit without any strangers. That is the deal. It would not kill the game. If you have ever played the board game "resistance", which is also playable with just 5 Players, then you will know the great and funny moments when you trick your friends or when they unmask you.

But playing online with strangers feels in 9/10 games not good at all. They kill you for no reason (without blaming you first), they dont speak your language (or even english), they play music in the backround and destroy on that way our communication. If this sounds like "fun" for you, i am afraid we have quite a differend understanding of what is fun.

We are also not asking for bringing that game down on an only five playermode, but for the optional gamemode with 4/5 friends. The developers are not asked to destroy your gameplay RaitoGaming and Claws4life, but to extend the possibilities. You wont be missing us on public servers, because at the momemnt we are not going to play this game with strangers anymore (for the reasons just look above).

How would you balance the game to be for 4 players?
Smarrald Juhnke Jul 8, 2017 @ 4:15am
My thoughs for a four player gamemode are: 3 innocent vs 1 terror would be an idea. This works fine in boardgames like "Battlestar Galactica", "Dead of winter: a crossroads game" or "Shadow over camelot"; even in videogames like "Trouble in terrorist town" works the 3 vs 1 mechanism absolutly fine.
In a five player gamemode, you could bring in a random possibility of having 1 or 2 terrors (play the boardgame i named before to see that this is MOST fun, not to know if you are screwed becuase you have a traitor or if you are totally screwed because there could be another one). The result would be a 3/2 or 4/1 situation.

Maybe i have to mention, that we just wanted to play a nice online horrorgame with a traitor mechanism, we are not really into achievements, getting experiencepoints or something like that. Just short funny rounds full of pants ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun with your friends.
If we would like to have a competetive game we can better play league of legends or counter strike (e.g. for balancing, matchmaking).

How about a statement Developer Sam?

Well, you did ask nicely...

I've spoken to our producer about the possibility of a private game mode, it would allow people to try some fancy stuff and I know some big streamers (for example Summit1G) were sometimes struggling to find a 6th player. Deceit with friends always seems to play a bit less competitive and a bit more Mario Party, it's funny to mess with people you know well but it has the habit of creating 'in jokes' that you, your friends and perhaps your stream will understand where as a random 6th player wouldn't.

There's pros and cons of such a system and I can't rule either way yet but I'll say we're investigating it and I hope to have some more formal feedback than the personal views I've shared here soon.
