GSC number 26 cannot rebirth.

So I'm trying to finish Challenge number 26 of GSC. When I'm trying to rebirth, I get the error that I have to beat Hyperion first(which is not possible, since Hyperion is the God I'm skipping on this challenge). I'm not sure if this is intended or if this is a bug....

Hyperion should be GSC 27. 26 is Itztli, according to the description.

Otherwise, yes, a GSC that skips Hyperion has no rebirthing and not much else because you lose access to everything that flows from Light

In all areas of the game, including outside of challenges, you cannot rebirth until you defeat Hyperion. This usually isn't relevant/important as you'll typically defeat Hyperion and many more before wanting to rebirth, but GSC 27, TGSC 27, and the Owl UAC all feel this restriction.

GSC 26 (Itztli) should not be affected by this, as you should have access to fighting Hyperion in it. If you don't, that would sound like a bug to me. For the sake of total certainty, it might be worth double checking which GSC you are actually on, checking which god is skipped.

There is a special 27th GSC if I remember where Hyperion is skipped, which is basically a crippled (no monument, no crystals, etc) NRC, and the reward you get is an extra title if I remember.

GSC 27 is one of the ones that counts towards boosting the Wolf pet's item camp bonus. But beyond that, I don't think there is any other reward from it.

I think GSC was one of the oldest challenges added to the game with some sort of scaling for each run instead of repeating the same target 50 times. And I recall that leading to people suggesting that this 27th run ought to have some sort of special reward added to it since it was so much rougher than any of the previous GSC runs. But I think for a long time it was just something you could do to brag, with no actual benefit from it.

There might have been some challenge that had something associated with a post-reward run outside of the challenges that Wolf eventually claimed, though? I think the hidden reward I'm thinking of was something in the avatar customizations? I'm not sure what, though.

I suppose I could just be thinking of Arty's sign for doing the UACs? I thought it was something else though. I haven't done UACs / don't have the sign, and I thought it was from something that I have done.

You might the thinking of No Divinity Monument Challenge. It only needs 21 runs to complete, but there's also the special 22nd run, requiring a 1/1 black hole and awarding an avatar cosmetic as well as a new title.
