Anyway... Well, the text box to input codes was first added to the game for a pair of "secret" pets that were added in early 2020. Type the code Corona and then the pets Corona and Vaccina will appear on the list of pets. Corona unlocks for free if I remember correctly, and Vaccina needs a pet token. There will be cures that your alchemists can start crafting to combat the sickness that Corona will start spreading to the pets (this is needed to evolve both Corona and Vaccina) and when you make Vaccina an alchemist she can craft vaccines to protect the pets permanently. Check the wiki for all the details before unlocking Corona to make sure that you have materials to cover the cure / vaccine and evo costs ahead of time so it goes as smoothly as possible. (Unlocking Vaccina before you're ready to pursue their evos is safe though. And just making them visible is safe too. It's specifically clicking Corona's unlock button that starts spreading the sickness.)
April Fools shenanigans over the years gave us a couple codes which are permanently part of the game now. (It doesn't need to actually be April Fools Day to use them.) The code Loof Slirpa can be entered multiple times until it has given you a total of 100 A.F. Coins and the code Aprils Fool can be entered multiple times until it has given you a total of 100 Fools Coins. A.F Coins can be used to fight a secret boss in the Newbie Ground which gets weaker with the number of A.F. Coins you send in but the only reward for winning the fight is more A.F. Coins. One or more Fools Coins can be used to fight a secret boss in the Newbie Ground which gets stronger with the number of Fools Coins you own (not how many you send in), and... the reward is classified as a spoiler so I'll leave that part unsaid. Anyway, the easiest version of that fight activated by the Fools Coin is harder than anything in depth 3 dungeons so don't bother if your pets aren't there yet.
What else...? Oh, during a Halloween event there was a minigame tied into the event. It was brand new at the time, added specifically for that event. There's a button on the AFK page to access that minigame now, but during the event the only way to open it was the code halloween. The code still works, but it's pointless.
I think that's everything? ... Oh, aside from one or two other secrets that are still classified as spoilers. Clues that you have to pick up from somewhere in the game and figure out what they mean and type in the answer.
Yeah, so far he's done a lot of weird gameplay stuff with that code input box and he hasn't used it for much in the way of item giveaways.
EDIT: Ah, found a screenshot on Discord of the stuff from the Happy2022 code. 10 lucky draws, 10 daily packs, and 50k pet stones. I did already collect that one then. I remember getting the 10 daily packs for free. Just forgot how Ryu had given them out to us.
1) 10m Free Exp
2) x100,000 Pet Stones
3) x10 Daily Packs
I think the halloween code was removed at some point in the more than a year since this topic was started. (Although the tooltip on the "input code" label next to that text box does still mention it.) It was redundant anyway since a button was added to the AFK page at some point which has the exact same effect that the code used to have, opening the "Ghost Defender" minigame. That game was added in 2021 and the code was the only way to open it. The "Bat Shooter" game was added in 2022 and the "Defend!" game was just added this year and no code was ever used to access either of those since they were just getting their buttons added on the AFK page right away.
Anyway, typically when a valid code is typed in it should immediately clear that text box and have the effect happen. The enter key is not used.
