The developers said that "even if you didn't play the first game, you'll be able to play Yesterday Origins without any problem". But there will be lots of things that mean absolutely nothing to you. So in my opinion, it's not going to be as enjoyable if you haven't played Yesterday.
i hope this one is not a sequel or prequel and more like reboot that play and feels like earlier pendulo games like Runaway and replaces first game as failed abominatipn. Can anybody confirm that? if this game follows previous one and pmays same way - i would not waste my money again.
In Yesterday Origins you can still teleport with a double-click.
The puzzles were challenging, yes, but they were very carefully thought out (okay, the chess puzzle was a snafu). My personal criterion for this is: can you still remember some particular puzzle from a game you played a while ago? I think quite a few people will still remember, say, the bird/flower puzzle from Yesterday.
I actually just wrote what I think about how this game feels compared to Yesterday and The Next Big Thing here and a bit about the UI here (now I feel silly quoting myself), so yes, there's a chance there'll be some things you won't like.
