Is it remake or sequel?
Such a surprise! I love Pendulo games so much but I really heard nothing about this game! So is it remake or sequel?

If I'm not mistaken, at first it was announced as a prequel, but it looks like it's actually both a sequel and a prequel :)

pendulo said no, you don't need to know the first :)

Just a bit of warning: you'll spoil the first game for yourself almost completely if you start with this one. But yes, you won't feel lost, there's a build-in recap of previous events inside the game.

It's a sequel in the sense that when you're playing in the modern time, the events of Yesterday have already happened.

The developers said that "even if you didn't play the first game, you'll be able to play Yesterday Origins without any problem". But there will be lots of things that mean absolutely nothing to you. So in my opinion, it's not going to be as enjoyable if you haven't played Yesterday.

first game was really dumbed down ♥♥♥♥ designed for mobile phones backported to pc witi zero effort, it didnt even had a walk animations, character just teleported between spots, and whole gameplay and ui was dumb and clunky. I rage quit that ♥♥♥♥ and wanted to forget it like nightmare!

i hope this one is not a sequel or prequel and more like reboot that play and feels like earlier pendulo games like Runaway and replaces first game as failed abominatipn. Can anybody confirm that? if this game follows previous one and pmays same way - i would not waste my money again.

I strongly disagree. The PC version of Yesterday did have a walk animation, but if the character had a long way to walk, then he teleported/blended in to the destination. It fit well with the "graphic novel" style of Yesterday, and to me it was definitely an improvement to the standard point-and-click UI. The UI also had other improvements, like not having to read or listen to "That doesn't seem to work" ten times in a row when using items.

In Yesterday Origins you can still teleport with a double-click.

The puzzles were challenging, yes, but they were very carefully thought out (okay, the chess puzzle was a snafu). My personal criterion for this is: can you still remember some particular puzzle from a game you played a while ago? I think quite a few people will still remember, say, the bird/flower puzzle from Yesterday.

I actually just wrote what I think about how this game feels compared to Yesterday and The Next Big Thing here and a bit about the UI here (now I feel silly quoting myself), so yes, there's a chance there'll be some things you won't like.
