Syberia 1, 2 and 3 not working with Mac M1 Monterey

I bought all 3 chapters today.
Syberia I & II freeze on the initial screen, Syberia 3 gives error 4294956486.
My system is a macbook air m1 with Monterey.

Going to put it out here that Syberia I & II are fairly old games and probably the last thing on the company's mind anymore. I can safely say they do run on OS Catalina, so they are mac OS compatible. I was greatly enjoying Syberia and almost completed the game but made the mistake to update my mac and now it's nothing but a startup screen. There's still no way to solve this issue on our own, but I recommend bootcamp if you don't have the option to go back to Catalina. It's something on your mac which allows you to partition a bit of your storage and run windows, there you should be able to install and play Syberia, I can't say that it will be successful because I haven't had the time to test this but I'd suggest looking into it if you're that desperate.

Additionally, Syberia I & II are available on Android for about $6 CAD each. That's about as much as big mac so don't eat out for a night when you get that craving because you bought Syberia instead.

2017 Mac running Monterey - intro screen freezes. Useless company still selling this game for Macs regardless, while knowing (since 2021) that it doesn't work! Isn't that fraud?

For Syberia 3
Please check if the following makes the game work correctly:
Go to System preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access
and enable full disk access for the game.

This is an example based on Avast. But instead of Avast, replace it with the Siberia executable file.

You can actually play Siberia 1 & 2 on Big Sur, and even Apple Silicon Macs, using The Porting Kit. Just Google "The Porting Kit” and you'll find it.

I remember playing Syberia 1 on Mac like 5 years ago, but I got a soft lock (I know all the puzzles). And now some representative from the company is aware of compatibility issue(in one of the discussions) but the company is not fixing it for over 2 years. Looks like acquisitons are killing such products and company is not making any profits of maintaining old products.

The Best solution for everyone to run Syberia 1 and 2, including Windows, Linux users is to use the development version of SCUMMVM (2.8.0) to play the game:
