Syberia I & II - High Resolution Guide
Hi, I've seen that if you search a little you can play Syberia I & II in high resolution but this topic is no clear to figure out, so I've decided to make this 6 steps . . . guide? I'll use 1080p resolution in windows 10 but you can use whatever you want. No need to tick any compatibility option in the exe propierties compatibility tab. No more "No 3d accelerator" error too.

First of all, you should create a custom 1080p 4:3 aspect ratio resolution in your gpu control panel. In this case will be 1440x1080. And select the keep aspect ratio scaling or whatever.

Then, you must download dgvoodoo2 and extract the exe file and the 3 dlls in the "MS" folder into the game directory. In Syberia I isn't necesary the D3D8.dll file, in Syberia II is a must.

What to extract
Files to extract 1 [image.ibb.co]
Files to extract 2 [image.ibb.co]

At this point you can already set the configuration. I'll leave a capture of that. If you are having low framerates, set a lower atialiasing sample.
dgvoodoo setup [image.ibb.co]

Where to copy the files
Syberia I location [image.ibb.co]
Syberia II location (I have it on Origin, but it works anyway) [image.ibb.co]

Profit on glorious high resolution
Glorious Syberia I [image.ibb.co]
Glorious Syberia II [image.ibb.co]

This is incredible. Does the same approach work with other older games as well?

For what I know yes, it does. Dgvoodoo makes wonders on the graphics side with old games. It's a matter of testing and trying until you find the settings that suits you.

Also can try DXWnd app, didn't require any custom res settings.

With the success of getting to run Dgvoodoo with Syberia, I was eager to try it out on other games. I installed a copy of Delaware St John 3, but it doesnt work, using the same exact process. It says on the back of the box Directx 9.0. How can I get this to run in fullscreen please?

I don't own that game but just installed the demo and tried it a little, it just runs in fullscreen in my pc and worked flawlessly without having to config nothing nor using dgvoodoo. Even if I put dgvoodoo files into the game directory it worked well too, so I don't why you are having problems.

Hmm that is weird. What OS are you using and what directory did you install it into?

I'ms using Windows 10 x64, and I installed it in default Program Files folder. No compatibility options used in the installer's propierties.

Kudos for such a wonderful guide! I just tried it on my Win 10 setup and the game looks glorious indeed. Many thanks!

So I am using the DGvoodoo and enjoying it much full screen. Its just that there are some lines through the screen. Anyone knows what causes this and how to fix it?

Actually, I do. In the DirectX menu you need to switch the texture filtering from "Force anisotropic" to "App driven". I had the same problem and it helped.

When you write DirectX menu, do you mean the NVIDIA control menu?
I did switch that to app driven, but no difference, lines are still there. (Syberia 2)

I mean the DirectX tab in the dgVoodoo control panel.

Here's the screenshot of my settings, also Syberia 2. Compare with yours.

Funny, I tried the app driven option, but it didnt work until I set my resolution lower (I had it on 1080). I did notice the text in the dialogue topics isnt so clear now, not sure if there are any other downgrades?
