Game doesn't allow downloading of mods with steamcmd?
I bought the gog version of the game last Monday. I've been trying to figure a way to get Steam mods for the gog version but haven't found anything that works yet. I just tried a steamcmd manual download and it seems this feature is disabled for Surviving Mars?

Why would it be disabled...

And who do I ask for a Steam key for the game.. guessing send a support message to Paradox maybe?

Edit: Problem solved, found a site that redistributes the mods I was looking for.

you need the steam version to download mods. this is why i no longer buy games (except old) from gog anymore.

Because you can't have your cake and eat it, too. I mean, it's like you buying a hamburger from Burger King but then wanting McDonald's to put their special sauce on it for free. :steammocking:

If you have a favorite mod, ask the modder in the mods comments to make it available on nexusmods.com

Why would I want that when it would be easyer to simply download it from Steam?

OP, there's ways to download workshop mods through hird party sites. Just do a google search. You'll probably find it. idk the site off the top of my head.

Nah, it's like buying a burger at burger king, meanwhile there is some dude who hangs out in the McDonald's lobby and makes his own sauce and McDonalds does not pay him a single cent or help in any way making that sauce, and you come into McDonalds to ask for some of the sauce and McDonalds says, "NAH SCREW YOU YOU CAN'T GET THAT SAUCE HE MADE AND I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS IS MY STORE GET OUT!"

AKA it's Steam showing their inner Nintendo/Apple and leveraging their scumbag user agreement in bad faith against the consumer to try to protect their market.

You should be able to download most mods through Paradox, in game just click mods. I have most of mine through there instead of steam mainly because some of the ones through steam had gotten reported and disabled, but they were on Paradox's mods.
