Hey there, this is the solo developer behind Legacy Code: Relic Restorer.

In an era where AAA titles chase 4K at 120fps with ray tracing maxed out, I decided to go against the grain — a game with no character portraits, no 3D models, where even combat happens entirely within lines of text.

Sounds a bit crazy, right?

But trust me, it's not because I'm broke (though the budget is... modest). It's because I firmly believe: the most powerful GPU will always be the human brain; the highest resolution display will always be your imagination.

In Legacy Code, text is no longer dry reading comprehension — it's something you can touch.

I wanted to recreate a sense of "raw authenticity".
When you pick up a [Rusted Music Box], you don't see a pretty illustration. Instead, through text, you "smell" the rancid machine oil between the gears, "hear" the shriek of a snapping mainspring, "feel" the illegible engraving scratched into its shell.

"The air reeks of burnt insulation. Every breath feels like swallowing rust."

This is a tribute to the spirit of MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) — and a modern reinvention. I've introduced Glitch Art: when your sanity erodes, text fractures, distorts, and flows like liquid. Here, text is both your eyes and your enemy.

I call this format "HD Text Game" (High-Depth Text Game) — not high-definition resolution, but high-depth text experience.


Traditional MUDs are white text on black terminals. We are not.

We've systematically pushed text gaming to unprecedented heights across eight dimensions — visuals, transitions, audio, interaction, narrative, voice, combat, and economy:

• Visuals: Four cyberpunk wasteland UI themes (Military Tactical / CRT Terminal / Rust Mechanical / Holographic Node) + real-time weather particles (rain / snow / sandstorm / acid rain)
  
• Transitions: No black loading screens. Sandstorms swallow your vision, data floods shred your UI — then you're somewhere else
  
• Audio: A custom MIDI synthesis engine drives an emotional melody system. That music box playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star? The fourth beat is intentionally off-key — because the father who recorded it practiced for ages but never quite got it right
  
• Interaction: Text is no longer passive reading. Words are clickable links, self-destructing buttons, living things that warp and shatter when your sanity breaks
  
• Narrative: A three-tier Echo system powered by a 150,000-word original novel. Every relic you restore forces you to relive its owner's final moments
  
• Voice: An embedded offline speech synthesis engine speaks your operator callsign in a cold, mechanical voice — no internet required
  
• Combat: A split-screen holographic tactical terminal — narrative log on the left, real-time status board on the right. You're not "reading that you attacked." You're issuing commands from a cyber warfare console
  
• Economy: Dynamic black market pricing, reputation-gated hidden goods, and NPCs who remember how much you cheated them last time

The core loop in a nutshell: Explore (Combat) → Restore (Puzzle) → Echo (Truth)

You play as Lu Yuan, a Relic Restorer running an underground repair shop in the back alleys of Block 109.
Your daily routine: descend into the dangerous underground labyrinths of the wasteland — Text Dungeons — to scavenge shattered relics from the old world.

Back at the shop:

• Restore: Replace degraded capacitors, solder severed neural bundles, turn unrecognizable scrap into usable equipment
  
• Echo: Every relic harbors the obsessions of the dead. After a successful restoration, you'll relive the history that shattered it through a Memory Echo
  
• Trade: Take your restored relics to the black market and find the best buyer among greedy smugglers and fanatical cultists
  
• Venture deeper: Use your earnings to strengthen yourself and push into more dangerous zones

But be careful — every relic carries memories and obsessions from a lost age. Restoring them might reveal secrets you were never meant to see.

You might ask: if it's a text game, won't it feel shallow?

To answer that, I did something a bit obsessive: before writing a single line of code, I finished a 150,000-word original sci-fi novel.

The heart of a text game isn't just mechanics — it's "Lore."
In this wasteland, there's no randomly generated filler text. Every item in your hands — even a single rusted screw — has an origin, an owner, and a complete story of how it ended up on the black market.

I built a complete world:

• Wasteland Society: The Jackal Mercenary Corp's turf wars, Prism Industries' corporate dominion, Block 109's underground order
  
• Source Code System: A coding paradigm that changed the world, and how it spawned three doctrines — Insight, Interference, and Reconstruction
  
• Old World Chronicles: How did the catastrophe really happen? What is the truth behind the Immortality Project?

The novel is officially registered. Every relic you find in-game is backed by a real story from the original work.
