Controller?

The store page says it supposrts controller.
I have an xbone controller and its saying controller support no and its in red... what do I do to use a controller?

Hi WolfVonhinslik,

the game should be fully compatible with XBox controllers through the normal Windows drivers.

Can you click the Controller Button in the options menu? It should turn green when the controller is detected and activated.

I use a Logitech F310, but also use x360ce (xbox controller emulator) and have had no issues other than accidentally switching between Direct Input and X Input on the controller. Other than updating your controller drivers, the only other thing I can think of is perhaps trying to force it through a manual adjustment of the settings.txt file under /data.

Hey Wolf,

I am trying to get more info from other players in the Discord, but we don't know of any similar issues so far. It is very hard to say from here what would be causing this, my best guess would be that it's a driver issue.

I will update if I get more info.

I have the same issue, just purchased the game to use on a laptop and need the controller option for it. I use a DS4, newest type, and DS4 Windows. Controller option is in Red and I'm not able to click it to turn it on.

I have now tried using my XBone X controller and the Revolution Pro and the problem is still there, option is still in red and unable to change. I uninstalled all other controllers from my Windows 10 too.

Same problem here. I can't get xbox or PS4 controllers to work.

Actually, you've got three people including me in Bug Reports who have this issue.

The controller is connected and recognized by Windows. However, it is not detected by the game. It is NOT the only controller that has been paired, but it is the only one that is turned on. It works fine in other games, and in the windows calibration/properties panel.

But the game persistently cannot see it.

This is a pretty significant bug for a game that advertises controller support.

(I wrote this same text in the other Controller thread, but I'll put it here as well just to make sure)

I am starting to think that there is a more general problem with XBox One controller compatibility. We will have to look into it and see what the issue is, and hopefully we can get it working with a hotfix.

The only problem is that I am away from work for the next three weeks, so we won't be able to add this for at least that long (plus some time to get it working). I'm very sorry about the issue, hopefully it's possible for you to play the game with keyboard and mouse and enjoy the game that way!

Hi, just wanted to say that it seems to be an issue with all controllers. I've been able to play the game with a controller for a while, but now it's unplayable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Very strange. I've tried 3 kinds of different controllers: a wired xbox controller for windows, an xbox 360 controller (wireless) and an older logitech 360-esque controller. When you click the box to enable gamepad in the in-game menu 3 things can happen seemingly randomly: 1) severe slowdown 2) extreme slowdown 3) game just works (now seems almost never for some reason). I have deleted the controller drivers, installed new ones; nothing. Read in some thread that verifying cache might help, that's not true. So, I'm out of ideas...

Xbone controller here, same problem as Karma, Toukoi, and WolfVonhinslik.
The Controller tab stays Red regardless of Xbone control on before game launch, off and on during game, off until menu then on.
Button remains Red.

To add to Robi-Wan, Toukoi, backhandfloater, Karma, and (Neo-Gambit)'s posts, I tried using a wireless PS4 controller with no success (the wired PC Xbox 360 controller was disconnected). On the bright side, I've never paired a PS4 controller to a PC before, so it may be fun trying it with other games.
