@Devs and Publishers: Linux support on day one ore just "maybe for exitement" like with SW2?
Hi Hedgehogs, hello Devolvers. Is Linux-support definite or will someone pull the plug on that one just before preorder is opened as it happened on SW2?

Have fun @everyone! Let us know if there are any issues with the current beta :)

I do think it's a bit sneaky to put the SteamOS icon on the store page when the game still requires you to activate a "linux" Beta branch. For people who don't follow the store page news (or this thread), it might be confusing as to why the game doesn't work. Hope that gets sorted soon so GNU/Linux users get the same experience as Windows users.

Anyway, again thanks for finally delivering. Looking forward to playing it soon!
It's only for the time of beta testing. We will make it properly when we go out from this phase.

Take care,

Great stuff! Thanks for clarifying.

Can we expect further performance optimizations even after it gets out of Linux beta phase?

We plan to make it so good that we won't have to improve anything ;)

Take care,

Thanks! Running great for me on Nvidia w/ Arch Linux. It didn't recognize me hot plugging my PS4 controller while the game was running, but this is a pretty minor complaint and shouldn't hold up the release. No real issues to report so far, it's been nice and smooth.

Non-Linux issue, I accidentally started the 'speedrun' mode and couldn't figure out how to leave it... this is more of a game design thing than a port issue though. Should be an option to go back to the main story or previous area on the ESC menu.

We’ve just updated the Linux beta build. Most of the bugs you reported should be fixed. Now, we’re working on boosting the quality of in-game videos. If you spot any new problems, please let us know. The official (=not beta) build will be available on Monday.

Hey thanks things definitely feel better so far.

-The mouse cursor disappearing in the menus seems to be gone
-I haven't seen anymore crashing

Only issues I'm still seeing..

-Stuttering is less but still present, though its mostly present at the start of levels
-Rengkok has low fps near the mechanic shop
-Besides the quality of the ingame videos, the cutscene directly after the first level never plays for me

@BoneAppleTea, thanks for the info, we're doing some more tweaks today and will be releasing a final version later today*.
PS nice memey Steam name you got there.
*EDIT: tomorrow. One last important thing to fix.

And yes, @Babaorheum, GOG version should be available soon, too.

Awesome work!

Enjoyed the game for quite a bit now, the only thing I can add is, that the cloud save seems not to be enabled yet. It's not syncing between my two Linux gaming rigs at the moment, the cloud space says: 0 bytes stored / 1.91 MB available on both machines, with Steam cloud synchronization being enabled.

I had a problem starting the game today, but I guess that was just a coincidence. After fiddling around for 30 minutes (starting from command line, with and without Steam runtime, etc.)
my last resort was to restart completely, and then Steam downloaded the update. So I was unlucky and there was an interference in the moment I tired to start the game.

Another thing I want to mention is, I can't really play the game with the Steam controller. Using the right touch pad for mouse movement doesn't feel really good, and mouse region doesn't work. Here the cursor is just jumping between top left and bottom right corner, without turning the character around. It works great with keyboard and mouse or with an Xbox 360 controller. I would prefer to use the Steam Controller though. Any ideas?

Thank you so much developers for taking your time and effort into making lot of people enjoy your game. I usually never write on forums but I have seen lot of feedback from you to help linux community and Im very grateful.
The gameplay + soundtrack on this game is so unique, I have never experienced anything similar, it feels amazing.
Thank you again and keep up the good work <3

I hope you've noticed the bug I reported in the troubleshooting forums Linux feedback thread (cutscenes don't work, instead of them the screen is totally white, and not all of them are skipable), and that it gets fixed eventually, as I'm really liking this game and I really want to be able to play it.

Hi guys,

It's only a couple of hours left before the update goes live. Stay tuned and please tell us if your issues are reoccurring after you install it...

Take care,
