Im trying to beat the entire game on impossible+challenge on rebirth 1 but cant go through formicarium 4 challenge ( especially the twin hybrid bosses )
so ive been trying to beat the entire game on impossible+challenge and ive already beaten the game before so im playing on the rebirth mode ( +1 ) and had difficulty going through some levels but when that happened i would just watch a tutorial and go through it

but for some reason this level seems nearly impossible, in my first build i would get the hermit mutant dead very easily and then bait the twins, get both of them low... first i tried to kill the mantis first, suceeded on that but then the other mutant would just outheal my dmg output and when i tried to do whip spider mutant first, then after he dies the mantis would just camp the outside of my base and insta kill my units before they could attack... even if i waited the mantis to leave the entrance to them attack, the scientst would get mad and kill me before i took too long

so i decided to research and try another build i found on the internet of fire ants and wood ants
and it turned out to be even less efficient, with me now struggling to kill the hermit and not getting even close to killing the twins...
( both builds were done w 10k-14k spare food and 17 workers making the soldiers, i didnt run out of food on none of them )
the closest i got to winning was getting the mantis on 9k hp but then i died to the scientst getting mad...

can anyone help me with a good build or a good strat?

I did it on impossible difficulty with 3 groups of 30 shooting ants and 15 of those that hatch only at level 3, and another group of 20 shooting ants and 10 of those that hatch only at level 3. When the twin hybrid bosses appear, I use those 20 shooting ants(give them to other group and turn off fighting) to lure the two bosses to fight each other, and after that it was relatively easy. I had a supply of 15,000 food before starting this.
See above. Lure them to fight against each other.

If you don't want to do that, kill the left one first. Don't engage both.

I'm not sure on how to help with a strat, because in a NG+ game you should have access to a lot of things that make your life easier.

I'm currently not far enough on NG2+ to retest the fight, but there's a couple of things I'd consider:
1. Some Leafcutter Majors for the tanking. Taunt; Shockproof, Sharp/Resilient.
2. Bullet Ants for Damage and Tanking. Lean Pupation, Sealed Carapace/Reinforced Carapace.
3. Matabele Ants - Either works, though Anaesthetist is more useful due to the debuff against single targets and their treatment isn't necessary under pressure. Sustain, Surgeon.
4. Some Wood Ants for ranged damage. Rapid Fire is in this situation better than Mortar, but you'll usually have a mortar build. High Pressure /Weakening is more useful in this situation for the debuff helping physical attacks.
5. Some Termite Majors. Their attacks increase the attack speed of nearby allies.

I would prefer to have around 30 workers, so they can repopulate the tiles quickly. Workers should have Efficient Brood to maintain speed. Also, it makes sense to ensure you have fast roads leading out of your ant colony, so your reinforcements can get to where they have quickly.

A neat trick is to do the run on easy first, so that you unlock the ability to spawn things in your map. Use that to deliberately bit by bit kill your ants and have your matabile "save" them, basically doubeling your initial army.
You can absolutely use a big group of Matabile ants to make this quick, then dissolve many of the tiles so you only are left with a couple while switching to other units.

Since your fixed army limit is one of the biggest thresholds, quality over quantity. You get a lot more out of 30 Bullet Ants than, say, 60 Fire Ants. Especially because they have a max damage received limit.

(Also, keep in mind that you WANT to use all 5 groups and split units up by numbers because of the Dragulathingy. The more evenly spread out your numbers are on the pheromone markers, the faster they'll respond to commands to evade attacks.)

The problem is, the mantis hitkills all my tanks at once, ive tried the bullet ants too but they seem to die in 2-3 hits of the boss and they also drain all my food
in my first try i had around 25 bullet ( +11 dead ones ) and 80 fire ants and failed

imma try the matable kill " cheese " tho
My advice is to keep the twins fighting by feeding the weaker titan with workers. It will kill the whip mantis by itself that way, and the praying spider doesn't have AoE so kill it normally.

i tried doing that, in the comment it says i failed that way because the playing spider outhealed my dmg, making me lose out of time
The spider shouldn't be able to outheal your damage, make sure you have shockproof and sharp on your learcutter majors, corrosive and weakening on ranged wood ants, and finally surefooted and last laugh on fire ants.
You could go for the nuclear option and spam ONLY bullet ants... but that is cursed expensive on food. I did it just for the 'meme' and while effective... oi, that took a lot of grinding.
after grinding for about 10-15 hours on the beach levels to have enought resources for an entire new army AND backup of 20k, i finally won it guys:steamhappy:
