So regarding the Watcher...
I know this is a stupid thread, i just wanted to hear from other players.

As i was playing the game i felt extreme JOKER vibes from the Watcher and i thought i was getting crazy

Then i searched up imdb and turns out the guy who voiced him also voiced the Joker in the Arkham series of videogames.

The thing is, now i literally can't shake off the feeling that Joker died, became a demon and now i have to have him bother me every minute about quest objectives and etc, and it's both hilarious and annoying at the same time.

Did anyone else have a similar experience?

It's Mark Hamill of Star Wars fame. We have to remember that the game was developed on the heels of 2009's Batman: Arkham Asylum and his voicing of the Joker in that series was both awesome and acclaimed so he was in high-demand at the time. I think the original devs at Vigil Games were thrilled to have him come in and give some of that same over-the-top madness to The Watcher. It's like the Joker's ambiance of tone without the twisted laughter or insane jokes. The Watcher manages to be the Joker but keep the crazy under the lid and only say what War needs to hear.

Still even more haunting for me was the Vulgrim voice actor, Phil Lamarr. The fill-in lines he gives, in a deep breathing haunt, like "Please... take your time." and the evil chuckles he gives while you're idle in the upgrade store are quintessentially evil. The game all-around had exceedingly good voice acting, from Liam O'Brien's stoic and heroic portrayal of War right down through into The Watcher, Vulgrim, Samael, and even supporting characters like Uriel and Abbadon. It's one of the reasons that those of us that played the original way back when were happy to hear that the Warmastered Edition wasn't going to alter the audio. It was already a masterpiece as is. It just needed better textures and technical options on PC, as the the X360/PS3-era ones looked awful on modern PC hardware, IMO. Even the Warmastered "double resolution" ones can be sketchy and somewhat soupy looking at times.

But I never wanted to hear anything new beyond the stock audio cuts because they really were that good.

The watcher hurt me at first with cringy lines. But then I got to liking him more.

He does sound remarkably similar, in voice (obviously) but also in mannerisms. Was getting the same vibes.
