Got it, and I see there's several other peers already. No seeds yet but I know that can take some time to register. I probably won't be at my computer much longer but I'll leave it running when I leave and hopefully it goes smoothly.
Running the game with everything on MAX.
I'm going to put my specs here if it helps the devs since i think they are reading this discussion.
Motherboard: ASrock H87 Pro 4
CPU: InterCore i5 4690K
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX970
Power supply: CX Series™ Modular CX500M ATX Power Supply (corsair Yarr!)
OS: Windows 10 Home.
RAM: 16GB DDR3
2 x 1 TB HDD
I'm still getting the whole package, but I've been able to retrieve the first cutscene (Scene_02.wmv) and compare it with the original Darksiders release. Great work! I agree that your re-encoded scenes even sound a little better than the originals now, instead of much worse as they do in the default Warmastered package.
I will keep a backup of the torrent file and all the new videos once I have all of them, so in case the problem is never patched by the developer, I can still re-seed to anyone who wants them. Unfortunately it will cost 10 GB of downloads which may be a lot for people with a monthly cap, but it's better than nothing.
With your permission, I'd like to write a brief community guide that people can comment on to request a re-seed of the new videos. I'll give full credit to you.
I think it would be a useful assist for people who are willing to absorb the full download, if for whatever reason they are not able to perform the re-encoding themselves.
That's great to hear! I was a bit nervous the quality might be too amateurish. No problem about the guide, go ahead.
As near as I can tell, they're basically perfect. I might have boosted the volume only slightly more - maybe 2.5 or 2.6x - but as they are now I honestly cannot tell the difference between the new re-encodes and the originals from the first Darksiders release. So, they now sound exactly as the developer intended, which is how it should be.
Very much appreciate your work in fixing this. One of the primary perks of PC gaming is the helpful community. :)

If anyone has comments or questions, let me know.
As I mentioned in the guide, I don't have a lot of experience with audio mixers and video encoders, so I won't be much help for those who want to re-encode the videos themselves. But I may be able to help with questions regarding the torrent download.
If the developer or publisher makes any request to remove the link to the files, I will certainly do that immediately.
I can't imagine why they would do that though. You can find the same cutscenes all cut together and posted on Youtube right here. That video has been up for 2 1/2 years now. There isn't any difference between that video and the re-encoded cutscenes, so I don't know why they would have a problem with one but not the other.
There are many other similar patches out there for other games that do nothing but offer improved music or video, like this one for Final Fantasy VIII. This patch[gtaforums.com] for GTA San Andreas actually includes songs from third-party licensees. And that is a Rockstar game, who are not exactly gun-shy when it comes to takedown requests.
Further, this is a patch designed to fix a problem affecting many of their customers that they are not able to solve themselves. It is a benefit to them to have them available to everyone, just as with the hundreds or thousands of other community patches out there for other PC games.
So, like I said it's extremely unlikely Nordic is going to be bothered by this. But if they are, then that's fine and I guess we'll all learn how to remix the files ourselves. Right now though, considering it's been months since the problem was first reported and it doesn't look like an official fix is ever going to happen, this is the only option we have available, so I'm leaving the link in place.
I hope it is like you said and they won´t bother.
Yeah I'm not worried about it. Appreciate the concern because it's always good to keep these things in mind.
I'm still seeding it myself right now, and I show a few others also seeding it as well. Is the torrent still stuck at 0% with the metadata not downloaded? If that is the case there may be an issue with your torrent client being blocked by your firewall.
