Beat CAT mode... PS4

Hi guys just bought this on PS4, its a great game but while I'm playing Beat Cat mode will just start while im reading the text boxes during the game. I presume this is because the games had no input for 10 seconds or something like a screensaver, now I dont mind this popping on when I pause the game but during is really irritating. There seems to be no option to toggle this off in game, so how do you turn it off during actual play and only come on when I pause?

Same thing on Switch, really annoying :(
