I think it just treats it as if you die. I'm also pretty sure you can't kill kids. Never tried in this honestly lol, but par for the course these days is no unless you mod it or something.

Yeah, one miss the good old Fallout 1 and 2 days :coolthulhu::shotgunDA: even if it almost made the game impossible to continue, you could at least to it, but this one felt like a trap.

I've gotten 'Kill one more civilian and you have to redo this mission' message once, when I got tired of the extraction of Jensen after failing it three times in a row, 2 of the times due to rebels shooting him when I dragged him to the car!?

So by then I improvised with the grenade launcher and he didn't even get to his second loction, and the civilians still jumped like lemmings in front of my car, but they failed to sabotage the mission, with their eagerness to try to check the pressure of my tires in full speed.

Thanks for the info all! Guess I should've tried.. but it were a too obvious trap to do it, and the town were almost cleared at the time so didn't want to risk anything,
I had never noticed kids in the game until I saw those.
But these are the Post-Fallout 1 and 2 days.. so guess I'd be a long time 'til we are able to shoot them if we want.

(Far Cry 5 on the other hand is actually more tasteless, as it forces people to run over animals for challenege events.. but not a single child in 'Montana' Oh and the Witches challenge in GRW forces you to kill animals too, and so far I haven't seen a single hostile animal in Virtual Bolivia?)

Depends if you consider killing children on the same level as hunting animals, or roadkill. Closer to murdering/brutalising adults as well, but we have a natural compassion towards children, so I understand why it's not added in games normally, let alone the backlash it would get nowadays.

Since you go around killing people in these games though I don't see why hunting animals is of any concern.

Closest to hostile is Llama, sometimes if you get close enough, it starts to spit at you.

Guess you never played Fallout 1 and 2? And noticed the consequenses of killing shildern? (pixels)

I like most animals a lot more then most humans..and children isn't classed as any of those in my book (as anyone who worked on a restaurant can only agree with) and as it's still onlypixels of 3d models were talking about the difference is close to none.
Doesn't make me go out an snipe my neighbors anyway :happycthulhu::lo_sniper:
From FMJ:
"How can you shoot women or children?"
"Easy! Ya just don't lead 'em so much! Ain't war hell?"

The games industry has evolved since 1998, and yes there were heavy penalties in those games.

I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong, or if it'll make you go out and kill someone, but I can understand why people would be uncomfortable with allowing it in games.

Just because you like animals more doesn't mean it's tasteless; the vast majority of people would be much more uncomfortable killing another human than an animal, and many would find the murdering of a child much more despicable than an adult.

I would not put killing animals in the same boat as killing children, personally, but I agree that the act of murdering pixels as a whole would put any of these into the same category as it's pointless at the end of the day to the sane person who can stomach it. Is it worth the controversy from a developers point of view though? Not normally.

A lot of people talk big about loving animals and how terrible humans are compared to them, but very few would put an animal's life over another human if they were given a choice.
