The save corruption is either a lie, or an issue only you have. Cause you'd think that a major save file bug would have been a top news story if it were true.
2s biggest positives is fixing the issues from 1, like removing the QTE-insta kills no one likes, making the button mashing easier, smoothing the controls (they just feel better than 1), shortening the number of and the length of gimmick stages (no 10 minute flight just to reach Jeanne), and going for a much more vibrant style. Its biggest issue is simplifying the rank requirements and having occasions where the enemies can block too often (even if having them block leads to more interesting fights. Maybe have a limit on them so they can't do it in a row)
1 feels more carefully balanced for rank runs (if you ignore the QTEs and gimmick stages). 2 feels better for just playing for fun.
