BTW, my processor is i9-9900K with 4090 gpu. I have all the extras on as well.
consoles currently being sold not so much
Cemu would be an aggressive move though because it’s WiiU and not Switch (although they do share a lot of games). I wonder if it even really hurts sales though when people use Yuzu/Ryujinx, the people I know who do it seriously are the type that would never buy a Switch anyway (or if they did it would be modded and they would still be playing illegal copies of the games instead of purchasing them legitimately). I just think Nintendo’s core customer base are people willing to buy their hardware and software and most of them aren’t interested in tweaking 20 different settings inside an emulator to get a good experience, even if it’s technically running at higher resolution and frame rates.
That’s correct, emulating hardware is not illegal but downloading the ROMs is. But if you own a switch cartridge for… let’s say tears of the kingdom and you manually make a backup and then use it to play the game with Yuzu, that’s supposed to be legal. But some of these things are kind of within a grey area because there hasn’t even been legal rulings/precendents on certain things. Like the Switch decrypts its games at runtime, that’s why you need the encryption keys from a system to play the games in Yuzu(along with the bios/system software). I don’t think anyone cares enough to go after end users though, but Nintendo is serious going after the developers of the emulators. Part of this is a problem of their own making, the original 2017 model shipped with security that could be defeated with a paper clip. I think that played a huge role in allowing Switch emulation (and the ability to rip copies of legitimate Switch games from systems running unofficial software) to advance so quickly.
It should, it runs at a locked 60 at max settings on my Steam Deck. Lol, your name is accurate- you do have bad grammar.
Yup.
And 80€ faulty gamepads aren't helping either.
Thinking about it, Valve business model did wonders against piracy, while nintendo's kind of encouraged it.
That’s inexcusable, to this day they are still selling JoyCons with the same faulty design. I switched out the joystick modules in my Switch with the Gulikit Hall-effect type that is supposed to never drift. They’re not really ideal either though, because they’re too sensitive. Not sure if that really encourages piracy, though.
The Switch is unique in that there is working emulators that mostly work as well as the system itself and that it coincided with the rise of AMD-based PC handhelds that can be bought for a small amount more than the Switch OLED. People can basically get a 1:1 experience offered by the Switch with the bonus feature of being able to play PC games (and other emulators) and they can get the Switch games for free off of the internet.
That said, I really don’t think there’s really a huge amount of people doing this compared to 140 million Switch consoles that have been sold. For people with less money and/or more technical know-how, those will choose to emulate. Sure, there are people who own the games and system legitimately that also emulate it on their PC/Android devices, but those are probably the tiniest fraction of all. The majority of gamers will just buy the Switch legitimately, because it’s the easiest, simplest way to play the games.
I'm with you when you say this "The majority of gamers will just buy the Switch legitimately, because it’s the easiest, simplest way to play the games.".
Unfortunately it is not only the simplest solution but also the best. I tried Bayo2 with different PCs and different emulators (millions of settings and mods) but I assure you that there are always some small imperfections unfortunately. On PC you can run it at 60, with mods and many nice graphic improvements, it's true. It is therefore true that it runs better, but if you are a purist of the series like I am, playing it on PC would lead to small imperfections that are not tolerable if you are a die-hard lover of the series.
I'm with you guys when you say :
"nintendo holds bayonetta hostage" because it's dramatically true.
I'm with you guys when you say : "the Joycons suck ! "(fortunately there are better solutions).
However this doesn't justify Nintendo selling those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller that they never fixed.
finally Nintendo has prices for its games that are truly absurd!
I think I'll play no more than 10 titles on that cursed console. The only plus point is the portability, which will soon be replaced by steam decks in the next few years I hope.
For those who don't know Hideki Kamiya left Platinum games saying «I talked about it in various interviews, that the Bayonetta series would consist of a total of nine episodes and that I wanted to grow the franchise as "Bayonetta Saga", but it seems that I should bring the complete saga in the grave with me. It's a shame. It's not like I own the Bayonetta IP, but I guess those who do will probably keep going."
And bayo 3 Is kind a "WTF happened to the series?"
in conclusion, if you love the series, buy this cursed console or wait for the switch 2.
If you are an occasional player of the series the PC is fine! (obviously as long as you have the game dumped from the cartridge that your friend lent you 😁).
only a miracle will bring Bayonetta to Steam and witches don't like miracles..
saying that is like saying they hold mario hostage
