3 hour run
I'm a couple of chapters away from completing a platinum run to unlock that character. After that I'm thinking of doing the sub-3 hour run.

I know I can replay chapters individually to clear them faster and get below 3 hours. However after all the hassle and effort of getting every chapter at platinum or above, I don't want to ruin that by updating their time/score with the speedrun results.

What do I do? Do I start a new savefile? Is that even how it works? If I do will I have access to all the unlockables I obtained in my current savefile?

Basically I want to do the 3 hour run without changing the scores in my current play history.

You don't get access to the unlockables if you play under a new save file, even if you're playing the game under the same profile. Same goes for when you play a game with a new character since you're required to make a new save file in order to play as said character.

Your only choice, if you really want to do the 3 hour run in order to unlock the Bracelet of Time the legit way and don't want to alter your current score and want to have access to all the stuff you've unlocked so far, would be to do it on a different difficulty on the same save file. Unfortunately, you're required to complete the 3 hour run on Normal or higher difficulty in order to unlock the Bracelet of Time.

Unless you feel brave enough to tackle Hard mode and beat it under 3 hours (which really isn't that hard to do so long as you skip the verses and abuse her PKP with dodge offsets) the only other way to unlock the accessory would be to do the telephone cheat, but that requires spending a ton of halos.

@Setnaro X are you saying that after I unlock the platinum run character, in order to use it I have to start a new game from scratch?

Couldn't I just do the 3 hour run with her then?

You can, you just won't have the unlockable items to aid you in the 3 hour run. You start clean and fresh with the new character. Of course you get a slight advantage to using her since she gets infinite dodges with no cool downs but at the cost of only being able to trigger witch time through bat within.
