Dodge timing on Kinship's missiles?
I mean, seriously, what.

I'm on NSIC Chapter 10 Verse 7, and these things are just flattening me. In Normal and Hard I heavily relied on Witch Time against them, as one does. I saw a couple suggestions that Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa helps against Kinship, but it seems to be 100% non-functional here (i.e. I've literally not had it activate even once, despite numerous attempts). I've seen videos of people dodging them, so I know it's possible, but the timing is completely impenetrable to me. It feels like the engine is just randomly deciding that I suddenly don't have I-frames in the middle of a dodge. That clearly can't be the case, but right now I can't even begin to work out what I'm actually getting wrong. Is there some kind of trick to it?

edit: I'm starting to think that this might be a performance problem, because combo timing feels really inconsistent too, and a video of the Wii U version is much smoother than what I'm seeing.

There's no real trick to it. Just dodge the missles when they get close. Be aware that the missiles won't go away that easily as some spin around nearby in an attempt to hit you again unless you manage to destroy those.

You could try equipping Evil Harvest Rosary since there is no witch time in NSIC difficulty. This let's you drop a bomb after every successful dodge which can hurt any enemies nearby and I do believe it also destroys any incoming projectiles, so try expirementing with that equipment. I'll go and do some test runs on this aegment and see if I can think any more strategies.

I can usually get one dodge in; the main problem is when I need to dodge more than once. I've gotten this to work a handful of times, but the needed timing seems to be very inconsistent. I initially attributed this to the attack, but now I think it might actually be the stage causing performance issues. The engine generally seems to have its physics and rendering properly decoupled, but even when that's the case there's always some load beyond which physics/input updates are also delayed (unless the OS is some flavor of RTOS).

I did get through it, but it was through a combination of getting better at dodging the other attacks (which also seem slightly off/inconsistent in this verse, but can be parried or only require one dodge) and dumb luck of having most of the missiles hit the Kinship I was standing on, not because I actually solved this problem.
