And normal is very demanding the first time around, but it gets better. I assume you dodge a bit too early and miss that sweet sweet Witch Time.
1) Each difficulty's chapter results are tracked separately. Any results you get on Easy, for instance, will not count towards Normal (this is important when it comes to certain unlocks)
2) Broken Witch Hearts and Moon Pearls can ONLY be obtained on Normal and above. On Easy, the relevant tombs are treated as if you already had the corresponding thing. You CAN, however, still get the Witch Hearts and Moon Pearls from Rodin. Alfheim Portals also do not appear on Easy to the best of my knowledge. All other item drops (e.g. Angelic Hymn LPs) can be obtained as usual on Easy.
3) Clearing the game will put you back at the Prologue on the next difficulty level up (unless you do it on the hardest difficulty), with all of your items, weapons, halos, and so on preserved. Your first clear will also unlock the "Chapter Results" screen, used to check your records on individual chapters.
Dunno about buying the hearts and pearls during a chapter as I haven't tried it, but if you enter the Gates of Hell from the chapter menu, they will only be on sale if you have selected Normal difficulty or above. It's pretty weird.
Yea I try to keep combos consistent instead of just smashing buttons :> Need more practice though >_>
Oh also, I got a good laugh out of those armored rhinos named "Fairness" in Chapter 3. Major props to whoever thought of that
If you think Bayonetta is hard, go play Ninja Gaiden. That game will kick your butt.
