I'm too bad to attempt this. But I will try my best :) Thank you for the reply.
I was able to get a platinum rank on my first playthrough on the PC, but that's only because I've been playing the game for about 8 years or so now.
That makes sense, but I was wondering if the first playthrough with pure plat ranks would be more interesting to watch. By the end of the first playthrough, you should have obtained all powerful weapon, items, accessories that you can rely on, which I think actually make some walkthroughs less interesting, but rather confusing to watch. On the other hand, during the first walkthrough, in which you don't have all those powerful items, you must rely heavily on your combo, your perfect evade, etc., which in my opinion is what makes a hardcore video game a pleasure to watch.
Thanks for the reply, bro!
The way I have it set up is this: pistol only, no items, no accessories and I have access to all my techniques because I seriously need to air dodge and perform stilletos in order to stay mobile. Perhaps later this week I'll start recording a run. This wll be a side project though, so don't expect me to stay active. I have a busy life overall and the only reason I'm posting this now is because I'm on company vacation lol
I did notice in my practice pistol run that there are certain events where Bayonetta gets Scarborough Fair no matter what, so I have control over that. Also, some Alfheims require you to defeat enemies using only wicked weaves, which the pistols can't summon. These will be the only exceptions where I have to switch to SF.
That's cool! Yes I agree that Platinum award at the end of each chapter is not extremely hard to get, but pure plat is really a headache, especially since there's no option to restart a battle after the score comes out - if you ruin one battle and get a plat instead of pure plat, you start over, not to mention that some battles in the first playthrough require an insane amount of combo points. I have just platinum-ed the first four chapters and the prologue, and after some grinding I got prologue, chapter 2 and chapter 4 pure platinum-ed, on the first playthrough of course, no accessories but I used Shuraba after the point where you should get it.
I'm currently playing on Xbox one console, and what I had in mind was to make a guide for first time players of this game, because I absolutely love this game though I'm not a long-term experienced player like you are, and also because a lot of first time players have problem with the battles and get low ranks (one of my friend actually told me he couldn't beat the game...). There is just too little information about the game mechanics in the tutorials for first time players. I think the guide, if I could ever make it, should help people better beat the game without getting too frustrated. After all, we have to admit this is not an easy game, compared to other new games that we now have.
I'm looking forward to seeing your project! But no pressure, just saying :D
