Nier Automata is an open world RPG adventure game.
Bayonetta is a stylish arcade action game.

Nier Automata is a bit more mellow with its combat, while Bayonetta is crazy full stop from beginning to end. Which one you choose depends on what kind of games you enjoy, as they're both very different.

Nier also has stiff competition within its genre, like Dark Souls III and The Witcher III.

Bayonetta has something very unique about it like no other game has been able to recapture, much like how Shadows of the Damned was very different and unique and another game I'd like to see ported to Steam.

I'm in a minority here but to me N:A is far superior. Even Metal Gear Rising is.

You're downplaying Bayonetta way too low. You should buy Bayonetta because it's a fantastic action game. Don't get me wrong, Nier Automata is also an amazing game. I thought the story and the way it was presented was a very strange yet incredible experience, but at the end of the day, they are both entirely different titles.

Nier is far far better for it's riveting narrative. The gameplay is pretty good too, Bayonetta is better in this.

Honestly I'd always get Nier over Bayonetta, but I'm a sucker for a good story.
