Plane section prologue

I'm godawful at these sort of brawler games, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get past that plane section. Online I found you need to perform three torture attacks, but nothing is displayed on the screen.

I'm at a loss, some veteran please briefly explain what I'm supposed to do :/

You need to just keep wailing on the enemies to fill up your magic gauge, then a prompt should appear to do a torture attack. Just do that 3 times, and you're set :)

Yeah but the game decided to turn off the UI by default. I had no idea what I was doing x'D

Fight with enemies and avoid attack on you till you start glowing with some violet light. Then make few simple kick on enemy and press Y+B at the same time. Repeat such attach 3 times. Good luck

I know you mean well, but it's a 18month old post. Surely i've either given up or figured it out by now..

welp 2 years later starting this game was at a a loss too because my game also had the stupid UI turned off just because...
